This quarter's Employee Spotlight, Andrea, may look very familiar. If you have ever visited our Torrance branch, you may have been greeted by her warm hospitality and friendly smile. Andrea joined our CalCom family in 2018 and quickly fell in love with serving our Members. Today you can find her helping Members into their first car or even their dream home. Here are some fun facts about her:
What do you love most about CalCom?
What I love the most about CalCom is how we can help so many people and families with their financial needs. I love that we get to know our Members and we always put our Member’s best interests first. In my position, see families buy their dream home, refinance for a lower payment, or even cash out for emergencies -seeing and experiencing their joy fills my heart and makes me love what I do.
Do you have a mentor? Who is it and why?
My parents have always been my biggest mentors. My parents have helped me in every phase of my life. I can say that the person I am today is thanks to them and their guidance. My parents came to this country to give their children better opportunities. It fulfills me to know they started from the bottom, worked hard, and was able to succeed and reach their dreams. They have taught me that hard work always pays off and to never give up.
If there was any problem in the world you could fix, what would it be?
COVID! Although the situation is getting better, I really wish there was NO COVID and we all can go to what used to be normal.
What is your favorite place you have traveled to?
My favorite place I have traveled to would have to be Spain. I traveled first with my husband about 7 years ago and again with my daughter right before joining the CalCom Fam. I really enjoyed the culture, atmosphere, food, people, the experience, and tradition. I got to visit family there as well so that was a plus.
If you could have any superhero power, what would it be?
If I could pick a power it would be the ability to control time. I always feel like I am running out of time. This power would be beneficial in my life. I would also use it to fast forward the bad times and slow the good ones.
What is your favorite music genre?
My favorite music genre is Salsa. It reminds me of my culture and spending time with my family growing up. Salsa is the most popular music genre in Peru, and you would listen to it everywhere. Taxi rides, parties, family reunions, etc.
